Chris started working at EnableUtah on the production floor on August 3, 2020, for a short period before transitioning to the day program at EnableUtah. Shortly thereafter, he began receiving job coaching and secured a position in the community with Take Five Car Wash on March 1, 2021, where he has been employed ever since.
Initially, Chris was reserved and shy, often keeping to himself. He required prompting to complete his task list or engage with coworkers. However, this changed when a new supervisor, Ryann, joined the team. Chris quickly built a strong rapport with Ryann, which helped him come out of his shell and develop friendships with a few coworkers.
When some coworkers went on leave, and the car wash became short-staffed, Chris truly began to excel. During a period when only Chris and a temporary manager were working, he stepped up significantly, going above and beyond to complete his tasks. He ensured that extra supplies were always stocked and available, took on additional responsibilities, and even began interacting with customers—an impressive milestone for someone naturally shy.
Chris's progress extended beyond work. He started participating in outings with the day program, which he had previously avoided in favor of playing games on his phone. Now, he actively socializes with friends in the program and continues to build strong relationships with both colleagues and peers.
I’m excited to see Chris’s growth and what the future has for him. Keep up the good work, Chris.

Abbie has been with EnableUtah since 1988. Abbie worked in the shred department for many years. Due to health conditions, she could not work there anymore, so she moved to the production floor. While on the production floor, Abbie struggled with her mental health and motivation and needed a change. She was able to work with the janitorial team at EnableUtah and was very successful in that job. After some time and help from the employment team at EnableUtah, Abbie was offered a trial position working at Autoliv. After completing the trial position, Abbie successfully produced the amount of work that was needed by Autoliv and was asked to stay with the EnableUtah crew working there. Over the last year, she has thrived in her new position and has gotten her health back to where she needs to be. She enjoys her job and often completes significantly more work than her quota requires. She also comes to EnableUtah 2 times a week to vacuum and help with Janitorial and loves to visit with her friends there.
Abbie is always happy, outgoing, willing to help anyone who asks, and puts a smile on everyone’s face when she is around them.

Rick has worked with EnableUtah for over 16 years. During this time, he has worked in a variety of positions with us, starting on the production floor and now working on the janitorial contract at the Driver’s License Division (DLD). Originally, Rick was placed in a job at Firehouse Subs, where his job was unfortunately eliminated after two years due to changes in management. However, he bounced back quickly, and after starting at the DLD, Rick has proven to be a reliable, strong, and hard-working individual who takes great pride in his work. Over the last year, Rick has shown tremendous improvement through the help of the community employment team at Enable and continues to impress us each shift he works. Rick has a positive and fun personality and gets along with others easily, especially if they are willing to poke a little fun at each other. He now works twice as many hours as before and completes all his work independently, showing huge progress in his journey with Enable.
